It’s a free pattern!
A couple years back, Elann.com bought a shawl design from me. I hadn’t heard anything about it again until yesterday. Well, my design has been reknit in a new yarn, photographed, and is now available as a free pattern!
Without further ado, I introduce the Lotus Blossom Shawl.
And another shot!
I originally did this shawl in a fingering weight yarn (the Elann Peruvian Baby Cashmere), but Elann has reknit it in Elann Luna, which is heavier weight and creates a wider shawl. I really like the appearance in the different yarn. The shawl itself is composed of two rectangles that are sewn together in a ruana shape. This particularly shape keeps the shawl on your shoulders. The edges are a naturally scalloping lotus blossom lace pattern, while the bulk of the body is a traditional English mesh lace. While the construction itself is quite simple, the lotus blossom lace pattern is a bit fiddly. It is worth the effort, though!
