Lattice Lace Stole

One of the things I snuck in over the holidays was designing and knitting a new shawl for Cherry Tree Hill Yarn.  I used their new Supersock Lace yarn in the Aubergine colorway.  I am always a little nervous about using variegated yarn with lace patterns.  Sometimes it feels like there is too much going on.  However, this colorway was lovely to work with.  If you look closely at the yarn, there are several purples working together, but they are all close enough that the color variations compliment the lace rather than detract from it.  Like the Supersock, the Supersock Lace is a superwash merino base that has a lot of spring and is nice to knit with.

Anyway, introducing the Lattice Lace Stole.  The pattern will be available through Cherry Tree Hill Yarn.  I am sure I can get modeled shots of the project from them at some point to show off.  These were taken right before I shipped the shawl.

The stole is knit in two pieces that are grafted together before blocking.  It is easier to knit than you might guess and really quite enjoyable.  I may need to make one for myself!

What a beautiful photo! I especially love seeing the pattern looks in the overlap.
