If you have followed this blog, you know that I was the designer of the January Mystery Sock for Sock Knitters Anonymous (SKA). Seeing as the sock was a mystery, I haven’t actually told you about the design itself or shown you a picture of the finished sock. Now that all of the clues are available, and finished socks are cropping up on ravelry and blogs, I will officially reveal my mystery sock design.
I introduce to you Gansey Girl! I used Brooklyn Handspun Signature sock yarn in the Pumpkin Pie colorway. My pictures don’t do the colorway justice. It appears to be a solid color, but take it out in the sunlight, and there is just an amazing wealth of color going on.
This sock’s patterning is entirely made up with knits and purls. Beads in place of purl stitches are optional, but a fun, touch!
I have to say that working with the Sock Knitters Anonymous group on ravelry is a ton of fun! What a seriously nice group of people.
The Gansey Girl Sock pattern is currently available as a free download on ravelry.
