Fern Lace Henley for Girls
Guess what? I have a new pattern, but it is not a sock pattern, and it is child sized! Meet the Fern Lace Henley for Girls. (I think an adult-sized version may be coming in the future. This sweater just looks to comfortable for me to not have one, too.)
The original sweater was knit up as a baby gift for friends of mine. Then a certain other little person decided that they needed one. So, my very awesome sister, Laura, knit up another one for me to test out the pattern. Sadly the sweater pieces sat around for, um, awhile, waiting for me to get to the finish work. Finally all is done, and the pattern is ready to go. Whew.
This little sweater is knit up in Blue Sky Alpacas Dyed Cotton. The yarn is super soft and knits up quickly. The sweater is knit in pieces from the bottom up, allowing the fern lace to create an attractive scalloped edge. The neck opening has a simple button placket, making the sweater easy for children to get on and off. The recipient of the new sample is one happy customer!
