Vogue Knitting has a new book out called Knit Noro: 30 Designs in Living Color. It is a beautiful book, especially if you (like me) have a fondness for that stripey goodness of Noro yarns. The projects make such nice use of the yarn. Of course, I am not completely unbiased. I have a design in this book: the Knit Kimono.
This cardigan is simple. But I think that is what I like best about it. There is very little shaping — it is almost entirely all rectangles, much like a real kimono. The fabric is all garter stitch and stockinette stitch. It works with the yarn, rather than competing with it. There is only a single button closure. Like I said, simple.
Hmmm… Maybe I will have to go cast on one for me.
Coming attractions: sock designs for charity, a new sock club design, some old sock designs freshened up, and a new shawl pattern. Not necessarily in that order.
