A Loopy Anniversary!
Many of you are familiar with The Loopy Ewe, a wonderful on-line (and local) yarn shop owned by my friend Sheri. This month they have turned 6! I can hardly believe it. And every year for the anniversary, I have had the honor of designing a special anniversary sock pattern for the shop. This year’s design is the Loopy Love socks. The pattern comes as part of a kit, which also includes the awesome new specialty line of Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock yarn, cute stitch markers from Lantern Moon (heart shaped — and I didn’t even know until the pattern was long done!), and a Loopy project bag. Fun stuff!
The sock pattern itself is knit from the cuff down, with a contrasting heel and toe.
As you can see, the sock is a combination of cables and ribbing. Even the ribs themselves have random smatterings of baby cables throughout.
My goal with this year’s pattern was to come up with something more unisex. My past anniversary patterns have been decidedly feminine. However, this colorway and the fact that Shepherd Sock (while soft and lovely) is a durable sock yarn with great yardage just screamed to me to create something for everyone. Hope I have succeeded!
